Youth Group Director
Michael Hamm is now the Youth Director here at Faith Alive Church. Michael, his wife Dawn & children Rebecca, Tiffany & Josh are members here since March, with faithful attendance for almost a year before that. Church is a big part of Mike’s life – he grew up in the church and has been involved with Bowman Park since he was old enough to go to camp. He was a camper, a youth camp counselor & has been helping with children’s camp for the last 10 years.
Mike also has a commitment to kids through coaching. He has coached baseball, softball & soccer. One season, he refers to himself as “crazy” as he coached all three at the same time! Mike has a real love for sports and kids – they kind of go together. Kids find it easy to be around Mike & to talk to him. At first glance; however, Mike can be intimidating because of his size – but once you get past that, he is one of those good guys that kids like to be around.
When asked about his vision for the Youth Group, he is very excited to see where the Lord will take them. He likes the idea of the newly organized Youth Council, and very much wants to see them self govern – with his oversight, of course!
Mike also wants to lead the youth in the things of God; helping them to develop a strong Faith through the Word. He has previously led a youth group and knows first hand that you can have lots of fun all-the-while discovering what God has planned for teenage life.
Now that you know a little about Michael Hamm, it’s your turn to introduce yourselves to him! If you are a youth that hasn’t connected to Faith Alive yet, Mike invites you to meet with him every 1st & 3rd Sunday night of the month from 6-8:00PM. If there is a fifth Sunday in a month, there will be something fun planned.
