Carbon County Training Center & The Arc of Carbon County

Carbon Training Center is a 501c3 private nonprofit corporation established in 1970 by a group of parents of children with disabilities. CTC is located in Beaver Meadows and services Carbon, Monroe & Schuylkill Counties. This year CTC will celebrate 40 years of providing life skills training, job skills training, mentoring and employment for adults with disabilities. The vision of Carbon Training is to continue to employ an integrated workforce of handicapped and non-handicapped workers to achieve the highest level of vocational and personal growth while producing goods and services required to achieve our mission & become 100% self sustaining. Carbon Training Center needs community help as they experience continued governmental cutbacks in support.
The Arc of Northeastern Pennsylvania is a grassroots organization formed in 1955 by a group of parents seeking public education for their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This organization is also the driving force that led the movement to deinstitutionalize state centers across the country. The Arc of Carbon County is committed to securing the opportunity for all persons with disabilities to realize their dreams by choosing how they live, work & play. The Arc offers programs and services such as Adult Day Centers, Vocational/Supported Employment, Recreation, Camping, Residential and Supported Living to individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges. The Arc is further committed to reducing the incidence of such disabilities through research, education and advocacy.
