Faith Alive Church - An Alive Church for An Alive Faith

homebound ministry

Wanted - a few good men or women!
"Give and it will be given to you; a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap. For by your standard of measure it will be given to you in return."  Luke 6:38

I read a story of a man who suffered with relentless pain most of his life from an incurable disorder. He began to notice that when he turned his thoughts to others instead of dwelling on himself, he experienced an incredible sense of well-being.
Whether he was planning to give, anticipating the act of giving or doing the giving himself, he could feel his entire body change. He mentioned this to his physician. His physician told him that his discovery was supported by the Bible and medical science. "Giving releases endorphins, the body's natural painkillers."
Studies have shown that volunteers, some of the most devoted givers of all, lead to a happier, healthier and longer life. Do you have some free time? The "Home-bound Ministry” team is looking for individuals who have some free time to go along for a visit to our "shut-ins/ nursing homes"
We will be going on the first & third Wednesdays of each month.
We talk, sing hymns, do a devotional, and pray. If you want an enormous blessing, plan to go along. Jesus’ words, "Whatever measure you use to give - large or small - will be used to measure what is given back to you." L.B.
